Does anyone have one of these working?? Installed our first one and we're having a lot of issues. Disconnects all the time, won't play mp3's unless at specific bit rate, iTunes problems. Have talked with Nuvo and they seem to be having some of the same issues. Wasted 20+ hours on this already, just would like to know if someone has one working. Using Vista on a new computer with usb to serial adaptor.

thanks in advance.

That's the first thing I'd try to eliminate. Those things are a bit flakey at best.

I'm not sure how the MusicPort works, but if you are trying to stream data through one of those convertors, it could prove problematic.

I barely trust them when uploading configurations/programming etc., so much so that I chose a lower spec'd laptop purely so I could have a Serial port. They're getting rarer these days.

That is possibly 1 minor problem. The not playing mp3's, iTunes issues have nothing to do with the streaming. I've been using usb to serial for a couple years with zero issues.

Actually the version of I tunes that you use can be a HUGE problem. We beta tested the MusicPort for NuVo and could not get it to work until I installed the newest version of I tunes. Even thought the computer said it was up to date, apparently it was not a 100% install. Re-installing I tunes from a fresh download solved the problems.

For streaming music, I would never trust a usb adapter. Again, during beta testing of the Music Port we tried to run it from a laptop using a USB to serial adapters. It did not work! When we moved it to the socket PC PCMCIA to Serial card it worked flawlessly. It also worked perfectly on a desktop pc using its on board serial port.

We did all of our work using Windows XP, nothing In Visto

Thank you for the response. We're going to try a fresh download of the itunes software and look into the Xpresscard to serial adaptor then. I'm also going to forward this to Nuvo because they never mentioned ANY of this to us.

Thanks again!!
